Avian Influenza may have similarities to the 1918 flu that 20 to 100 million people died depending on estimating resource including More soldier died of flu then battle field casualties during world war I. Over 500,000 Americans died of the 1918 influenza pandemic. The onset was very quickly killing over 10,000 per week in some American Cities. The 1917 pandemic may provide important information on preparing for a potential bird flu also know as avian influenza pandemic. The pandemic affect the young and healthy adults at higher death rate then usually seen in typical flu.
